Battlefields Trip 2024 (Mr Harrower)
A few spaces have become available for the 2024 Battlefields Trip to Belgium and France. Any S3 pupil interested should collect a letter from Mr Harrower in PE as soon as possible.

S2 Football (Mr Mooney)
Can all those wanting to take part in the S2 football this season, please attend a meeting in Mr Mooney’s room (B25 – English corridor) at breaktime on Friday.

History Trip to Krakow June 2024 (Miss Dalziel & Mrs Harrower)
If you are currently in S4 or S5 and are interested in attending a trip to Krakow, Poland in June 2024, please attend an information meeting at breaktime (10.25am) on Friday 25 August in B17. See you there.

S1&2 Girls Football (Mrs Steedman)
Training will begin on Monday 3:30-4:15pm. Absolutely anyone is welcome! Make sure you bring a change of kit with you!

Basketball & Badminton Clubs (Mr Harrower)
Basketball and Badminton clubs will start on Monday afterschool in the games hall from 3:15-4:15pm. All pupils in S1-S6 welcome.

S6 Yearbook Committee (Miss Lipton)
For all those S6 who had shown an interest in being part of this years Yearbook Committee or any other S6 who would like to be involved – there will be a meeting Tuesday 29 August at 1:15pm in D9 Business. If you can’t make it but still want to be involved see Miss Lipton to be added to the team.

S5/S6 EMA (Mrs Cook)
If you have applied and been approved for EMA, please bring your completed Learning Agreement form to the school office. We cannot proceed with any payments until this has been done. If you have still to apply, please do this as soon as you can. Any applications received by Fife Council after 30 September 2023 cannot be backdated and you will only be paid from the date the application is received. Please remember you also need to make a new application each academic year.

Fitzgerald Trust Award Scheme (Mrs McNab)
You must apply for this award before Friday 8 September 2023 and you must be a Kirkcaldy resident to apply. Here are the link and QR code. Either will take you to the application form.

S5 & S6’s Only – Mentor in Violence Protection (Miss Johnston)
Mentors in Violence protection is a programme in schools and is a peer education programme providing young people with the language and framework to explore and challenge the attitudes, beliefs and cultural norms that underpin gender-based violence, bullying and other forms of abuse.

We are looking for any S5 or S6’s who would be interested in being involved in this over the school year. Please fill out the form if you wish to be a part of it or speak to Miss Johnston, Mr Farquharson, Mrs Dempsey, Mrs Dalziel or Jayne.

S6 Hoodies (Miss Lipton)
Can all S6 Leavers please ensure they’ve ordered & paid for their Hoodies by Friday 29 September. The cost is £20 – please remember to fill in the form with your choices.

Gardening Club (Mrs Brown)
Gardening club is back on at the Serenity Garden 🪴. New members welcome. Meet at the amphitheatre just after 1pm.

Calm Colouring Club (Ms Geddes & Miss Millar)
Colouring has been shown to have multiple positive effects on your mental health, including reducing anxiety and helping your brain and body to relax. If you are looking for a quiet space to enjoy your lunch and do a bit of colouring, then head along to A3 from 1:10pm every Thursday lunchtime. Ms Geddes, Miss Millar and the Mental Health Ambassadors will be there to welcome you.

FRIDAY 25 AUGUST

Hot Meal: Lentil soup, Breaded fish or Salmon fish fingers and chips or Vegetable stir fry with noodles.

KHS D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) Group (Dr Murray/Miss Collins)
The KHS D&D Group meets in D2 (Home Ec) every Friday after school. Take part in exciting adventures and storytelling. It’s all up to the fate of the dice!

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray)
We present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy’s radio station, K107FM every Saturday morning. You could be involved, even if you’re never available on a Saturday! We meet every Friday in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch/building pass.
