Home Economics Corridor – Thursday 16 March (Miss Murray)
The Home Economics corridor is out of bounds today due to exams. Please find alternative routes to your classes. Information about your Home Economics class is on display on the glass doors at the end of the Home Economics corridor.

University Applicants – Lift Off Event (Mrs Sim)
All pupils who have applied for university starting September 2023, please attend the IT hub today Period 1. See your Mrs Sim if you have any questions.

Our Girls Can (Miss Hay)
Our session today after school is CANCELLED due to absence/meetings. We will meet next week for our last session of the term in B6.

Calm Colouring Lunch Club (Ms Geddes/Miss Millar)
The Calm Colouring Club is cancelled today due to a staff meeting.

S3 Bronze DofE (Miss Wallace)
A list of those who applied and were successful in their DofE application, please attend a meeting at 1:10pm today in B10. Slips are also in tutor folders and a list is outside B10. Any questions please see Miss Wallace!

Change to ‘Out of Class’ Procedure (Mr McKay)
From Monday 20 March 2023 we are changing our procedure for young people leaving / returning to class during the school day.

We are asking any young person who is leaving class for whatever reason to sign out of class / sign back into class. Young people should get permission from the class teacher before leaving class, sign out and take a pass. On return to class, young people should sign back in and return the pass.

For those young people who have an Out of Class pass, they are not required to sign out but should complete the sign out / in sheet on return to class – if appropriate.

This system is to support fairness and consistency across the school whilst ensuring that we can monitor and support young people appropriately.

Army Workshop – Friday 17 March (Mrs Whyte)
For those who have signed up to attend this, please check on the sheet outside C13 what period you should attend. You should head straight to the assembly hall on Friday at the correct time. If you no longer can make it please see Mrs Whyte in C13.

Dress Down Day – Red Nose Day 2023 (Miss Lipton)
This Friday 17 March will be a Dress Down for Red Nose Day in support of Comic Relief. £1 donation to be paid in Tutor on Friday – please no football tops or inappropriate clothing.

Junior House Captain Applications – S3 Only (Miss Lipton)
Applications are now open to all S3 for Junior House Captain positions! This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the current House Captains before taking over to lead the houses. This will include planning house events, getting involved in forum, planning for and speaking at assemblies, helping out with parents’ evenings, school events etc. Closing date for applications is end of day this Friday 17 March. Interviews to take place Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th March. Fife Schools LGBT+ Social – Sunday 19 March 11:00am-2:00pm (Dr Murray)
On Sunday 19 March 11.00am-2.00pm, there will be a Fife Schools LGBT+ social event at “The Hive”, just off the High Street in Kirkcaldy. This is a great opportunity to meet with LGBT+ folk and allies of the community – all school age folk are welcome. To attend you need a permission from – Dr M has them in A4!

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
Following this week’s assemblies all pupils have been shown how to access the DYW Padlet on the school website, which is updated regularly with opportunities including work experience, in school opportunities as well as apprenticeships and job opportunities. REMEMBER – It is good to gain experience as well as qualifications in school to make your CV and applications stand out. If you are looking for something that is not advertised on the Padlet – please see Mrs Whyte who will help out.

Speak to Mrs Whyte if you require any help with applications, finding jobs or want some work experience.

The String Group will take place on Thursday lunchtime in E13.

S1 & S2 Netball (Mrs Steedman)
Training will be afterschool every Thursday starting this week from 3:30-4:15pm.

Film & Media Study Support (Mr McPherson)
Film and Media study support for S3 is on today after school in Studio 1.

Card Club (Mrs Rae)
Come along to the PSO base at lunchtime to play various card games and make new friends. Maybe your friends are off, and you have nowhere to go or you see yourself as a real “card shark” all are very welcome!

Wind Band (Mrs Simpson)
The Wind Band will take place on Friday lunchtime in E13/Dance Studio.

Health Zone Drop In (Mrs Davidson)
Every Friday lunchtime, the school nurse team run a confidential drop in session. They are situated behind the careers room opposite the main office.

S1 Reading Group (Miss Britton)
S1 Reading Group during Friday lunchtimes in room B23. It’s a chance to practice reading out loud.

Have Lunch with A Hero! (Mrs Brown)
“Release the KRAKEN!!” All are welcome to come and see the remake of the Clash of the Titans at Classics Film club, in C11. Bring your lunch and see the hero Perseus battle against Medusa and the Kraken!
