Going into National Apprenticeship week 2023, we are delighted to share that we are offering Finance Apprenticeships within LBG at our offices in Central Edinburgh. We are looking enthusiastic individuals (6th year onwards) who have an interest in a career in Accountancy & Finance. 2023 Battlefields Trip (Mr Harrower)
All S3 pupils going on the Battlefields trip in April this year should attend an important meeting today at 1:15pm in room B17. Attendance is essential, as we have important information to give you.
Equalities Group (Dr Murray)
The Equality Group exists to tackle all sorts of inequality such as sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, disablism, and other variations. Joining this group is a great way to actually change things at KHS. We meet in A4 every Wednesday lunchtime. Bring your lunch!
SHE Scotland Programme (Mrs Kerek)
All participating in the SHE Scotland Programme this term should attend sessions on Wednesday afternoon – S2’s period 6 and S3’s period 7 in the IT Hub.

BBC Young Reporter Competition (Mrs Whyte)
Are you interested in journalism, storytelling, the media? Do you have a really good personal story to tell? The BBC are looking for stories to share on their website, news, tv, radio and podcasts. If you are interested in sharing your story – Mrs Whyte will be helping pupils with the BBC Young Reporter competition. This meeting will be now held on Tuesday 14 February at 1.30pm.

Bowling with LEAP Sports (Dr Murray)
February is LGBT History Month and to mark that LEAP Sports have organised a bowling competition on Sunday 12 February at Tenpin Falkirk. It’s for aged 14+ – if you fancy being part of it see Dr Murray in A4!
S6 Leaver Hoodies (Mrs Rae)
S6 Leaver Hoodies can now be paid for on iPayimpact. They are priced at £22 and this includes nickname and a huge choice of colours. All payments to be in by 16 February. Please come and talk to Mrs Rae if you have any questions or there are any barriers to you being able to pay for a hoodie.
DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
Lots of new things on the Padlet including:
- Apprenticeships – Fife Council Trades, Diageo, Babcock, University of St Andrews
- Volunteering Opportunities – including opportunities for those aged 13+ who want to start their careers early.

If you would like a calm space to have lunch and do a bit of colouring, with the option to chat through any questions with our Mental Health Ambassadors, then this is the club for you! Head along to A3 (Science) where Miss Millar and Ms Geddes will have all the resources you need to chill out and recharge for the afternoon ahead. Today from 1:10pm.
Art Club (Mrs Donaldson)
The club will have different projects to take part in such as creating artwork for displays, competitions and seasonal activities. Bring your packed/cold lunch to D15, Art Department 1pm, Thursdays.
