S2 Mock Coursing (Mr Farquharson)
This takes place in the library today. The lists of appointment times are up on the cabinet across from the guidance base. Check your time and make sure to attend. Some of you may have your appointment tomorrow or Thursday – the sheets clearly say the day at the top.

Young Carers (Mrs Thompson)
If you are a young carer please could you come and see me briefly at break or lunch in B24.

Outside Cafe (Mrs Hardie)
The outside cafe will be closed until after Christmas.

S4 Parents’/Carers’ Evening – In School – Thursday 15 December – PEBS (Mrs Noone)
The parent/carer on-line booking system closes this evening at 11:55pm.

Badminton and Basketball Clubs (Mr Harrower)
Both clubs are cancelled after school today.

S2 Football Training (Mr Geissler)
Could all S2 boys involved in football training meet in B2 at break time for a quick meeting.

S1 Football (Mr Pennel)
Any footballers interested in playing in an upcoming school game, please attend a meeting today at break in the boys’ gym.

House Captain – Science Event (Amy Whitehill, Kate Francis & Roshaan Asim)
Would everyone that is involved in the science house event, please come along to A5 (Mr Dick’s room) at 1:15pm to plan and start the research project.

Girls’ Football (Mrs Steedman)
Reminder that S1 & S2 girls’ football is on after school on Tuesdays! Anyone is welcome along!

Fashion & Textiles Study Support (Mrs Donaldson)
No study support this Wednesday, will resume after the holidays.

Art Club (Mrs Donaldson)
No art club this Thursday lunchtime. Art club will resume after the holidays, have a lovely Christmas break.

S1/S2 Netball (Mrs Steedman)
Game on Thursday is cancelled – training will be on as normal.

Results KHS World Cup Gameday 9 (Mr Greenhorn)
We have the following result from our semi-final match on Monday: Qat vs. Mex (0-2). Mexico have qualified for the World Cup Final (they will play the winner between Aus vs. Arg). Qatar will play their final game on Thursday 15 December in a 3rd place play-off.

KHS World Cup Gameday 10 (Mr Greenhorn)
The second semi-final between Argentina & Australia will take place this lunchtime in the Main Games Hall. It is up to each National manager to ensure that their team is ready to take part. The fixtures will kick-off at 1:15pm. Spectators will only be allowed to watch from the Table-Tennis suite – where no food or drinks will be allowed.

Our House Captains have created a few Christmas Tutor Quizzes for this week. Complete these throughout the week (one entry per class) to earn some points for you house. You will need to be logged into your GLOW account.

S1 Pantomime Trip (Mrs Patton & Miss Robertson)
A reminder to all first years attending the Pantomime, that it is this Friday! If you have not already done so your medical form must be handed in to the office. On Friday, please make sure that you are wearing full school uniform, register with your morning tutor as quickly as you can, then head down to the bus point meeting with your belongings where you will be met by Mrs Patton and Miss Robertson. We are really looking forward to this trip and hope you are, too.

S6 Leaver Hoodies (Mrs Rae)
S6 Leaver Hoodies can now be paid for on iPayimpact. They are priced at £22 and this includes nickname and a huge choice of colours. All payments to be in by 16 February. Please come and talk to Mrs Rae if you have any questions or there are any barriers to you being able to pay for a hoodie.

Christmas Baubles (Mrs Rae)
Personalised Christmas baubles are available all week from the PSO Base priced at £1 each. You can have any name in a variety of colours which can be a perfect gift or a lovely way to honour a loved one who has passed away, you also have the choice to take the bauble straight home or have it on our remembrance tree at the office first. All money raised will be donated to Paige’s musical Butterflies.

Kirkcaldy Foodbank (Mrs Morris’ S3 YPI Enrichment Class)
Mrs Morris’ S3 YPI class have had a meeting with Kirkcaldy Foodbank and as a result they have managed to get boxes for donations. We would like the whole school community to get involved. To help support the Foodbank you could donate things like toiletries, tinned foods, chocolate, sweets etc. To donate you should bring your donation into school and drop it off in one of the black crates at the S6 Prefect Base (opposite the main Office). It would mean a lot if you could help our local food bank. Even if you bring in just one thing then a person will have something to eat or something they desperately need. Please leave your donations between now and Monday 19 December. Thanks so much for your support!

S6 Prom Payments (Miss Lipton)
Can all S6 attending Prom please pay the next £10 towards the total due before the end of term 21/12/22. Payments via iPayimpact preferred – if you need to set this up, please see the office for instructions.

Signed Rangers Top Raffle (Mr Sanderson)
Mr Sanderson is raffling off a Rangers top signed by the current 22/23 season first team to raise funds for the Washington Trip. Raffle tickets will be on sale at break in B14 for £3. Tickets will then be on sale every Tuesday and Thursday at break. The winner will be announced the last week of term. Any questions please see Mr Sanderson or Miss Young.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
The Padlet has been updated with more local jobs – lots of local places are taking on Christmas temps. Remember the first place to start with applying for a job is to write a CV. There is a great guide on my World of Work to help with this. Speak to the Careers Advisors if you are not sure about where to start. If you are in S5 and starting to think about applying to University, in particular Edinburgh University – please let Mrs Whyte know as there is a great opportunity coming up!

Lower Strings and Bass Guitar Lessons (Mrs Simpson)
Lessons are on today in the Music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board.

LGBT+ Group (LGBT+ Committee)
The legendary Kirkcaldy High LGBT+ Group meets at lunchtime TODAY! This group is for anyone of any identity including allies. Dr Murray’s classroom (A4) is the place to be and all are welcome.

S2-S4 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

Girls’ Football (Mrs Steedman)
All girls interested in playing for the girls’ school football team can attend training after school on Tuesday 3:30-4:15pm.

Biology Study Support (Miss Irvine)
Study support sessions are now on after school on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15pm in A1. All levels welcome.

KHS Choir! (Mrs Duckett)
Open to everyone, no auditions! After school on Tuesdays with Mrs Duckett in E10.

S6 Yearbook (Miss Lipton)
The Yearbook committee will meet after school on Tuesdays in D9 from 3:15pm. Any S6 who have still to complete their assignments for the Yearbook can you try to get these done ASAP. If you need any support with these please feel free to come along to any of the meetings.

Dance Club (Miss Johnston)
Dance club will be after school every Tuesday from 3:30pm-4:15pm.

WEDNESDAY 14 DECEMBER

Need help with maths homework? Stuck on something you’ve looked at in lessons? Come along to the S1-S3 maths support group, every Wednesday lunchtime (1:05-1:40pm). Bring your lunch, bring your questions.

Guitar Ensemble (Mrs Simpson)
The Guitar Ensemble will take place on Wednesday lunchtime in E13.

S1-S2 BSL (British Sign Language) Club (Mrs Kerek)
BSL Club meets at 1:10pm in C8. Come along and learn British Sign Language in a fun and friendly environment. Pupils are welcome to bring a cold lunch.

S3 & Senior Netball (Mrs Steedman)
All S3 pupils and Senior pupils (S4, S5 & S6) interested in playing netball this year, training will be afterschool every Wednesday from 3:30-4:15pm.
