Senior Netball (Miss Kirkwood)
A massive congratulations to our Senior A Netball team – Rebecca Greig, Elanor Ali, Ellie Ness, Amy Whitehill, Tayla Lazmirski, Miren Grant and Kelsey Maxwell – who came second out of 20 teams in the Fife Schools Netball Tournament. In a very close final, they narrowly missed out on first place by one point.

S5/6 Travel and Tourism (Miss Nessel)
If you are in Group 2 for the Employability Workshop, please go to Miss Nessel’s class D8 after tutor today.

U16 Football (Mr I’Anson)

Discover You Workshops (Mrs Whyte)
If you are still due to hand in your form for the Discover You workshops can this please be returned to Mrs Whyte by lunchtime today in C13. If you have completed your form, please attend the workshop tomorrow in C13 period 3-5.

S4 Practical Cookery Pupils – Seafood Demonstration (Mrs McMahon)
On Wednesday 30 November (period 1&2) Callum Sinclair of C.Sinclair Fresh Fish Merchants will be demonstrating techniques to prepare a variety of seafood. This will enhance pupil knowledge for the N4 Understanding and Using Ingredients unit. Pupils in Miss Collins (PC3B) and Miss Brown’s (PC3A) class are welcome to attend, providing the hey have sought permission from their timetabled Wednesday P1&2 teacher. The demonstration will be filmed for any pupils who miss it.

KHS World Cup Gameday 4 (Mr Greenhorn)
We have the following fixtures taking place today at lunchtime in the Main Games Hall (Fra vs. Sau, Aus vs. SKo, Fra vs. Aus & Sau vs. SKo). It is up to each National manager to ensure that their team is ready to take part. The first fixtures will kick-off at 1:15pm. Spectators will only be allowed to watch from the Table-Tennis suite – where no food or drinks will be allowed.

S5/6 Getting Girls into STEM (Mx Donaldson)
Any S5/6 girls who are interested in STEM are invited to a day long conference at Perth College on the 8 December. The day will consist of six workshops run by industry professionals including representatives from Standard Life, RAF, Cirrus, and Scottish Universities, and presents and exciting opportunity to get involved in STEM. The sessions are listed below:

  • Construction Tower
  • Engineering in a safety critical environment
  • Engineer to Rock: From silicon to sound

S3 STEM Speed Dating (Dr Murray)
On Wednesday 30 November as part of our Employability week, we will be hosting 20-30 ambassadors from a number of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) fields. They will be stationed around the hall with groups of folk in S3 given 5 minutes to “grill” them on their lives and careers. it’s always loads of fun and a great opportunity to find out about STEM-related jobs and what they actually entail day to day. Don’t worry, you’ll be given “prompt” questions to help you out if you can’t think of anything to ask. The split in the S3 year group is…

The Return of the Calm Colouring Lunch Club (Ms Geddes/Miss Millar)
If you would like a calm space to have lunch and do a bit of colouring, with the option to chat through any questions with our Mental Health Ambassadors, then this is the club for you! Head along to A3 (Science) where Miss Millar and Ms Geddes will have all the resources you need to chill out and recharge for the afternoon ahead. Starting next Thursday, 1 December from 1:10pm.

S6 Prom Payments (Miss Lipton)
Can all S6 attending Prom please pay the next £10 towards the total due before the end of term 21/12/22. Payments via iPayimpact preferred – if you need to set this up, please see the office for instructions.

Signed Rangers Top Raffle (Mr Sanderson)
Mr Sanderson is raffling off a Rangers top signed by the current 22/23 season first team to raise funds for the Washington Trip. Raffle tickets will be on sale at break in B14 for £3. Tickets will then be on sale every Tuesday and Thursday at break. The winner will be announced the last week of term. Any questions please see Mr Sanderson or Miss Young.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
The Padlet has been updated with more local jobs – lots of local places are taking on Christmas temps. Remember the first place to start with applying for a job is to write a CV. There is a great guide on my World of Work to help with this. Speak to the Careers Advisors if you are not sure about where to start. If you are in S5 and starting to think about applying to University, in particular Edinburgh University – please let Mrs Whyte know as there is a great opportunity coming up!

The legendary Kirkcaldy High LGBT+ Group meets at lunchtime TODAY! This group is for anyone of any identity including allies. Dr Murray’s classroom (A4) is the place to be and all are welcome.

Girls’ Football (Mrs Steedman)
All girls interested in playing for the girls’ school football team can attend training after school on Tuesday 3:30-4:15pm.

Biology Study Support (Miss Irvine) 
Study support sessions are now on after school on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15pm in A1. All levels welcome.

KHS Choir! (Mrs Duckett)
Open to everyone, no auditions! After school on Tuesdays with Mrs Duckett in E10.

S6 Yearbook (Miss Lipton)
The Yearbook committee will meet after school on Tuesdays in D9 from 3:15pm. Any S6 who have still to complete their assignments for the Yearbook can you try to get these done ASAP. If you need any support with these please feel free to come along to any of the meetings.

Dance Club (Miss Johnston)
Dance club will be after school every Tuesday from 3:30pm-4:15pm.
