Supported Learning Netbooks (Mrs Lindsay)
Do you use a Netbook from Supported Learning? Do you wish to continue to use a device next year? If so you must see Mrs Lindsay or any member of staff in Supported Learning by Friday 10 June at the latest. If you do not contact Supported Learning by this date then a device will not be ready for you for the return to school in August.
#KitForAll Project (Mr Greenhorn)
KHS are taking part in SportScotland’s #KitforAll project. This campaign encourages individuals and families to donate any recycled/pre-loved sports kit or equipment for those who need it most. We will be accepting donations from Wednesday 8 June, until Wednesday 22 June. Please keep an eye out for more updates this week on #KitForAll.
S1-S6 Young Leadership in Sport (Mr Greenhorn)
Applications are now open for S1-S4 Young Leader & S5 Young Ambassador roles with Active Schools. There are limited spaces available for each programme, but I would encourage anyone interested in applying to please do so before the deadline (Friday 17 June). Come & Try Disc Golf Event (Mr Greenhorn)
Cluny Clays have offered 16 spaces for any interested Kirkcaldy High School pupils to take part in 9-hole disc golf on Thursday 9 June, 4:00-6:00pm. ‘Disc Golf’ is played like traditional golf. Instead of hitting a ball with a club, players throw a Disc, think Frisbee. To complete a hole, it’s not a ball into a cup, it’s a disc into a basket. If you’re interested and would like to take part, please complete the form and I’ll be in touch to confirm your space.
LGBT+ Groups Disco (Dr Murray)
The combined Fife Schools LGBT+ Groups are having a disco on Sunday 19 June 12:00pm – 2:00pm. We’ll be taking the minibus from KHS – it’s FREE and ANYONE is welcome. If you fancy coming along see Dr Murray in A4 for a permission form!
Little Shop of Horrors Show Tickets (Mr McPherson)
Tickets for the school show are now available on iPayimpact. Tickets can be purchased by logging into iPayimpact – go to ‘Accounts’ then ‘Shop’. You can then pick up tickets at the school reception. Tickets can also be purchased using cash at the school office in addition to the iPayimpact option. Alternatively you can pick up a ticket on the evening of the show subject to availability.
DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
This week on the Padlet there are Apprenticeships in NHS Fife as a Pharmacy Technicians. If you are thinking of a job in medicine there are also upcoming Medicine Open days at St Andrews and Aberdeen; we have school contacts for other experiences. Lots of local businesses are hiring including B & M, Young Spuds, Lidl and in Care roles. Mrs Whyte is happy to help with finding work placements or helping you look for a positive destination when you leave school. There is lots of help there if you are starting to think about what you want to do when you leave school.

You can access the confidential drop in service for any reason at all, including support with sexual health and contraception. The nurses also offer mental health support and will “signpost” to other services. This will run today at lunchtime behind Community Use.

Have Lunch with A Hero! (Mrs Brown)
All are welcome to come along to C11, with their lunch, to see Homer’s classic story about the hero Odysseus on his monster-filled journey back from the Trojan war!
Club Period (Mrs Rae)
Come to the PSO base either during lunch or after school to collect a bag of sanitary products to take home. At Kirkcaldy High we believe no person should have to pay for these products so save your money to treat yourself and come and get them for free at the PSO base, as well as a range of other hygiene products.
