WEDNESDAY 1 JUNE

Hot Meal: Vegetable soup, Chicken korma and rice, naan bread and salad or Vegetable korma and rice.

S1 & S2 Workshops (Mr Farquharson)
All S1 and S2 will be receiving a double period workshop this week. We will let you know what class is going what day in the daily bulletin. When it is your turn, please go straight to C4 with your bag.

Period 7: Those who signed up through guidance for a different session

Change of Timetable (Mrs Hamilton)
All pupils will be receiving a copy of their new timetable in tutor on Thursday this week. Friday 3rd and Monday 6th June are holidays and so we are changing timetable on Tuesday 7th June. Tutor will be extended on Tuesday by an extra 10 minutes, so that we can remind you of expectations for the new session ahead. Please make sure that you come to school on Tuesday with the correct equipment required for your new timetable (eg. PE kit etc.)

S3 DSF Athletics Helpers (Mr Greenhorn)
Can the S3’s involved in helping at tomorrows Disability Sport Fife Athletics event in Pitreavie, please meet me at my office at the beginning of period 1. This is to go through the plan for tomorrows event.

S1&2 Girls’ Football Meeting (Miss Steedman)
Can those involved in the S1 & S2 girl’s football team please attend a meeting in the Boys’ gym at break today about the upcoming tournament.

Golf Competition Opportunity (Mr Stewart)
The school has been invited to take part in a Fife Schools Ryder/Curtis Cup Golf event before the end of term. Any girl who would be interested in playing in this should see Mr Stewart at interval today in the PE Classroom. Players must be a member of a club and have a current golf handicap.

Pitreavie Athletics Event (Miss Steedman)
Can those who participated in Sports day please check the Sports Stars board in PE. If you came 1st, 2nd or 3rd in your event you are invited to attend a meeting today at break in the PE Girl’s Gym as you have qualified for a Fife Athletics Event being held at Pitreavie Athletics Centre. Any problems please speak to a member of the PE department.

First Chances (Mrs Dempsey)
Can I remind you all to pass on your permission slips to me before Thursday and come to A18 after your register in tutor on Thursday where we will meet before we go to get the bus from outside the school. Looking forward to it.

S3 Helpers at DSF Athletics (Mr Greenhorn)
A reminder that the list of selected pupils is on display outside the Active Schools office. A consent form has been sent to parents/carers; this must be completed as soon as possible. I so far have 4/16 returned.

LGBT+ Groups Disco (Dr Murray)
The combined Fife Schools LGBT+ Groups are having a disco on Sunday 19 June 12:00pm – 2:00pm. We’ll be taking the minibus from KHS – it’s FREE and ANYONE is welcome. If you fancy coming along see Dr Murray in A4 for a permission form!

S2 First Chances (Mr Spink)
Can all S2 First Chances pupils please make sure they hand in all completed consent forms to Mr Spink as a matter of urgency; it is equally important that you tell him if you do not intend on attending the trip to St Andrews University. Thank you to all who have already done so!

Little Shop of Horrors Show Tickets (Mr McPherson)
Tickets for the school show are now available on iPayimpact. Tickets can be purchased by logging into iPayimpact – go to ‘Accounts’ then ‘Shop’. You can then pick up tickets at the school reception. Tickets can also be purchased using cash at the school office in addition to the iPayimpact option. Alternatively you can pick up a ticket on the evening of the show subject to availability.

Power of Youth Day (Clued Up)
We are celebrating our young people’s achievements and you are invited. Monday 6 June, 11am-2pm at Clued Up Project on Kirkcaldy High Street. There will be showcases of various work and accomplishments, alongside live music, stone baked pizza and other activities.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
Highlights this week include Apprenticeships in Customer Service, Vehicle Servicing Manufacturing and Social Work. Apprenticeships are an amazing way to learn whilst learning and for many jobs it means you can work your way up in a career without the need for going to University. There are plenty of part time jobs on offer including in Starbucks, Fast and Fresh and Beijing Banquet.

There will be more opportunities for our S1-3 pupils throughout the year too!

S1-S3 Maths Homework Support (Mr Jones)
Maths homework club with Mr Jones will run weekly every Wednesday lunchtime (1:15-1:40pm) for pupils in S1 to S3. Grab your lunch first and come along to C3 for homework support.

Equalities Group (Ms Mahr)
Come along and meet the Equalities Group on Wednesday lunchtimes at 1pm (bring your lunch) in C12! Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you all!

Little Shop of Horrors (Mr McPherson)
Rehearsals are on after school tonight. All cast members check the schedule and attend the rehearsals you are called for.

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Kirsty Brown, S6)
Are you interested in becoming a radio presenter and presenting on a local radio station? If this sounds like something you seem interested in, then head along to Dr Murray’s Room A4 in science on Thursday at lunch, to find out more information! This is open to all years, we hope to see some new faces!

Calm Colouring (Mrs Dempsey)
Every Thursday (at lunchtime) in A18. Bring your own mindful colouring books or borrow from my collection. Feel free to bring your lunch.

Rugby (Mr Greenhorn)
Thursday after school from 3:30-4:30pm on the school Astro pitch. This new club is open to all year groups and is being run in partnership with Kirkcaldy Rugby Club. Please bring warm gear and report to the PE dept.

Homework Club (Mrs Patton)
Homework club is on after school on Thursday in C6, 3:20-4:15pm.
