Assessment Arrangement – Timetables (Mr Broadway)
All learners with assessment arrangements in the forthcoming exam diet will be issued with a timetable during the school day today. There will also be two copies of a contract, please return one of these to reception by the end of the week. If there are any issues with your timetable, please see Mr Broadway tomorrow.

Lost Property in PE (Mr Stewart)
There has been a huge amount of lost property collected in the PE department last term. If you have lost something, please ask one of the PE staff to check this week as all clothing left will be given to charity next week.

Prefect Applications (J Davidson)
S5 pupils – reminder the deadline for prefect applications is Wed 20 April.

IT Hub (J Davidson)
All S6 who have study periods should go back and use the library this week please. IT Hub is now being used for meetings etc. Usual expectations re NO LITTER in the library please.

Craft Club & Homework Club (Mrs Patton)
Craft club and homework club is not on this week.

Senior Football (Mr English)
All boys must attend a meeting today at break regarding details of the Fife Cup Final v Balwearie this Friday.

S3 Lift Off (Miss Nessel)
If you have received a slip in your tutor folder on Monday, you have been selected to take part in a programme with the University of Abertay. Please attend D8 (Miss Nessel’s room) today at 11:30am, Period 4 to complete the first session. If you have any questions, see Miss Nessel.

Biology Study Support (Mrs Dempsey)
Study support for Biology this week is on Thursday lunch in A18 or after school in A18 (NOT TODAY).

S3 Prefects (J Davidson)

During study leave, we offer an excellent leadership opportunity to S3 who are interested in filling in for prefects. It will involve doing duties a few times per week but is great experience especially for those looking to take on additional responsibility and for those interested in becoming prefects in S6. Please complete the form on the S3 Year group Team by Wed 20 April. You will meet with the Pupil Leadership Team on Thursday to arrange duties etc. S3 Monitor Application

Prom 2022 (Mr Fulton)
Can all S6 who are attending the prom please make sure they have done the following by the end of the week:

Paid £40 for your ticket
Read the contract, shared it with your parents and returned it using the QR code at the prefect base.

Failure to do both of these tasks will result in you not being allowed to attend. Please make myself, Mrs Hardie or Mr I’Anson aware if you are having difficulty paying before Friday. Thank you.

Rights Respecting Schools – Ukraine Appeal (Miss Young)
The Rights Respecting School’s group would like to thank KHS for raising a grand total of £1724 for the Ukraine crisis appeal. This will allow 57 large first aid kits to be sent out to health workers in Ukraine or pay for 38 emergency water and hygiene kits for families. We were also overwhelmed by the very generous number of items donated. This has clearly been an issue which has touched us all and your generosity and kindness are appreciated. Thanks for supporting the work of UNICEFF and helping children across the world. Our next project will be start after Easter, look out for the next notice! (please see pictures below, this is only a very small sample of the items we received!).

Job Opportunity (J Davidson)
Multiprint have a job available for a ‘Print Finisher’ and the Managing Director is coming in to speak to anyone interested on Wed 20 April at 2:45pm. Please see Mrs Davidson if interested.

House Point Questionnaire (Mr Spink)
Can all pupils please make sure they have completed the House Point Questionnaire this week, if they have not already done so? S4-6, it is imperative that you do this before you leave on Friday, it only takes a couple of minutes! Remember, you can access it through the QR code here, or use the ones dotted throughout the building. The current response count is 176 (around 13% of school roll), so let’s see if we can get this higher.

S1-S2 Rwandan African Tea Tasting Session (Mrs McMahon)
Any pupil who wishes to come along to a presentation from David Gasana and a demonstration of how to make Rwandan African Tea (and then drink it) should come along to D2/4 Home Economics to see Mrs McMahon. The session will take place Period 2 on Friday 29 April.   First come first served, 20 pupils max.

The Tilda Street Food Challenge 2022! (Miss Collins)
FDF Scotland have teamed up with Tilda rice to challenge pupils from S1 to S3 to research, design and market a rice based street food dish, based on Tilda ambient rice.

What’s involved?
• Work independently or in groups of up to 3
• Investigate what types of dishes might appeal to young people your age
• Channel your inner chef to design a new street food dish
• Design a marketing campaign to accompany the product
• Research the process of growing, harvesting and producing rice, and it’s economic and health importance across the globe
• Think how the dish can be made sustainable
• Include nutritional information and highlight any allergens

Entries to be submitted by 21 May 2022. (All information is on teams). Please see Miss Collins if you would like to use the school kitchen (after school) to work with your team.

LGBT+ Group (LGBT+ Committee)
The legendary and amazing LGBT+ Group meets every Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) for anyone who wants to have a nice place to sit and enjoy their lunch, get to know other people, make badges and make keyrings. EVERYONE and ANYONE is welcome, hope to see you there!

KHS Community Choir (Mrs Duckett)
This will run on Tuesdays after school in the Assembly Hall, 3:15-4:15pm.

Drama study support is on after school today, 3:15-4:45pm in Mr McPherson’s room.

Badminton Club (Mr Harrower)
Badminton club will be on afterschool on Tuesday in the Games Hall (3:15-4:15pm). All pupils from S1-S6 are welcome to attend.

S1 Football (Mr Pennel)
S1 football will run on Tuesday afterschool (3:30-4:30pm). Training will be on the Astro so bring appropriate footwear if possible.

Young STEM Leader (Miss Tennant)
Young STEM Leader sessions will take place every Tuesday from 3:15-4:15pm in A7.

S1-S3 Maths Homework Support (Mr Jones)
Maths homework club with Mr Jones will run weekly every Wednesday lunchtime (1:15-1:40pm) for pupils in S1 to S3. Grab your lunch first and come along to C3 for homework support.

Equalities Group (Ms Mahr)
Come along and meet the Equalities Group on Wednesday lunchtimes at 1pm (bring your lunch) in C12! Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you all!
