Respect for Self, Others, and Learning

113. Blue Bulletin – Thursday 24/02/22

THURSDAY 24 FEBRUARY

Hot Meal: Lentil soup, Pasta bolognaise, garlic bread and salad or Vegetable and cheese fajitas.

Pupil Toilets (Mr Allan)
Please be aware that from Monday 28 February, the communal toilets in the quad and on ground floor “B” block will not be available other than before school and during official breaks. They will be locked during lesson times.

If you need to use the toilet between breaks, and this should only ever be in exceptional circumstances, you will need to politely request a slip from your teacher. The teacher will manage any pupils out of class. The toilets which are available during lesson times are: the unisex facilities opposite Guidance; next to the Staffroom; on the ground floor in Science; and the 4 cubicles at Drama. Please make your way smartly to the nearest toilet and wait for it to become available. You should not be wandering the school and any pupil out of class without a slip may be given a lunchtime detention. Please report any mess or damage in the cubicles to your teacher right away. Thank you.

Assemblies (Mr Allan)
We are now able to hold assemblies again. Assemblies take place next week as follows;

Tuesday: Adam Smith
Wednesday: Carlyle
Thursday: Oswald

Because we have not had assemblies for the last 2 years, tutor time will be extended by 5 minutes on each of those days next week. Period 1 starts at 9am.

When the first bell goes (at 8.41am) you should go straight to the Hall and sit with your Tutor Group. Tutor teachers are asked to report to the Hall a few minutes early please, in order to show their pupils where to sit. Each class has two rows of seats and the spaces are numbered 1-9 on the left as you enter and 10-18 on the right. There are numbers on the assembly hall floor to guide you. For example, pupils in A10 will sit in the front rows on the right side (as you enter) on Tuesday morning. Tutor group C05 are in the middle of the left block on Wednesday and O18 sit at the back right on Thursday. Teachers are being sent a seating plan they will share with pupils this week. You’ll soon get the hang of it.

Please sit quietly with your bag under your seat while your teacher takes the register (on paper). The main input to the assembly itself will come from the Guidance Team on this occasion. There will be year group assemblies the following week. Arrangements are different and will be explained next week. Many thanks.
