Paige Dougall (Mr Allan)
It is with very great sadness that we share the heart-breaking news that Paige (S6) passed away last Wednesday evening. It’s likely that you may have already become aware of this through social media or word of mouth, but I wanted to be sure that Paige’s mother would want us to put a message out across the school.

Paige was an exceptional young woman, who made a huge impact wherever she went. She had a truly remarkable personality which almost literally, brought out the sunshine. Everything was a wee bit brighter and better when Paige was around. She was Head Girl at Fair Isle Primary and in our school, her particular passions were music and drama … Paige excelled in both fields. Many of us will never forget her amazing performance in “School of Rock”, our school show in 2019. It was not long after that when Paige was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a very rare form of bone cancer. She spent two years, often in hospital, in and out of remission, before passing away peacefully at home surrounded by her family this week.

Please be aware of the “GoFundMe” page which has been initiated in Paige’s memory by her dear friend Dominika Valente, another former student of KHS.

Book of Condolence (Mrs Kerek)
There is a book of condolence open at Guidance for Paige Dougall, our S6 pupil who sadly died last week. A book of condolence is a book where friends and acquaintances of some who has died can record a short message or a memory which is then passed to the person’s family as a keepsake and a reminder of how much their loved one is missed. All staff and pupils at KHS who would like to contribute to this are invited to do so at break or lunchtimes over the next few days. If you would like to leave a message, please take a minute in advance to consider and plan what you’d like to write and pop down at the stated times. PSOs and Guidance will be around to support anyone wanting to do this. Thank you.
