Rector’s Message for Term Ahead (D Allan)
Welcome back everyone. On behalf of all the staff, I hope that you’ve had a good break and that you are well. I wish you all the best for the term ahead. As always, to get the most from your time in school, your attitude in class and respect for learning will be really important. Always try your best and learn from mistakes. Follow all teacher instructions without question and always ask for support if it is needed.

To help us work together in a consistent and fair way, simple reminder posters have been placed at every classroom door. These focus on the “givens”, or KHS rules, on dress code/outdoor gear, mobile phones and earphones, eating or chewing in class and the need to face coverings indoors for now. These were covered at year meetings last term. Please follow all our rules to get the most from school. Teachers will refer to the poster to ensure a fair and consistent experience for all pupils.

As has been previously mentioned, we will be reintroducing “Tutor” from Monday 15 November. This will be, as before, a 9 minute registration and check with a consistent daily group, and with the same teacher daily. It’s a chance for everyone to get the “givens” right at the start of every day.

Also, please welcome Mr Davidson Kelly to KHS from today. Mr Davidson Kelly is new to the Computing Department and replaces Mr Adams, who moved to Lochgelly High School just before the break. He is joining us from a school in Aberdeen.

Here’s to a happy and successful term. Respect for Self, Others and Learning.

Many thanks to the PSO Team, who will be visiting all classes today to ensure that everyone receives another box of 7 LFT kits. Many thanks.
