In our nursery and school, children’s social skills will be fostered in an environment where positive relationships are actively promoted.
It is vital for all staff to develop a consistent approach to managing children’s behaviour and to offer solutions to help children restore relationships.
Emotion Works is used across our nursery and school to help children to identify their emotions, the triggers and what solutions can help resolve the issue.
Behaviour is a form of communication and can occur for a number of reasons:
- a new baby
- family difficulties – unemployment/ill health
- separation or divorce
- bereavement
- moving house
- different rules and expectations at home
