Who is involved?

The parent council is made up of adults who are responsible for kids attending Kettle Primary School and is open to anyone in that category. If would like to be involved please email kettleparentcouncil@gmail.com and join our mailing list.

Currently there are a small number of families regularly represented and we are always looking at ways to increase this to include as many people as possible and gather a wide representation of the voices in our community.

What do we do?

We meet at least once a term and have two key objectives.

  1. Support the school to provide our children with the best learning opportunities possible, creating a safe space to share ideas or raise issues about the general running of the school and environment it provides. For example improving play opportunities in the playground, supporting communication between school and parents / carers.

2. Fundraising for money that allows the school to provide activities that are additional to but enhance the existing curriculum – e.g.                     outings, additional classroom resources.

We have a formal meeting once a term and Pamela McNaughton (our head teacher) always attends this. There are additional planning meetings when specific events are happening. We are currently building a sub group for diversity (particularly looking at race) and this group hopes to increase ant-racist action within the school and help with ideas of how to include this within the curriculum.

How can I get involved?

As above, first and foremost email kettleparentcouncil@gmail.com and make sure you are on our mailing list to hear about meetings and events.

Help out at school events, bring ideas, attend the meetings!

One of our ongoing money raising activities is that we’re registered with easy fundraising. This is a very simple site to use that links online shopping with company donations to your chosen charity. Please check it out and consider using it to get the school some ‘free money’ whilst doing your online shopping. The web address is www.easyfundraising.org.uk
