ECO Schools
The school is involved with the international Eco Schools project which is a vitally important scheme in shaping the Scotland that we all want to see in the future.
We have been awarded certificates for achieving the Bronze and Silver levels of the EcoSchools Award Scheme for Scotland. We have also achieved our green flag and we are working hard to keep it.
Rights Respecting Schools
We have learned about different Articles from the UNCRC during our assemblies. We have spoken about:
Article 12 – the right to have your say and be heard. We have also spoken about what we need to do to let others have this right.
Article 28 – the right to an education. We have spoken about what we need to do to make sure everyone gets the best out of their learning in school.
Article 29 – the right to develop your personality, talents and abilities to the fullest. The children are being encouraged to come forward and share their talents at our assemblies.
Article 31 – the right to relax and play. We have spoken about what this looks like in school.
Article 24 – the right to good quality health care. We have spoken about the need to have clean water and nutritious food.
