John Fergus Parent Council has been an active part of school life for around 12 years now. We organise fundraisers throughout the year, traditionally a Duck Race, a Sponsored Walk and stalls at some school events. We are also pleased to support the school in curricular and planning decisions wherever we can.

We welcome any parent or carer who wishes to attend meetings – even if it is just now and again.

Dates for Parent Council are made at the end of each meeting and shared through the minutes and through Groupcall. There tends to be 4-6 meetings a year.

​Connect, formerly the Scottish Parent Teacher Council (SPTC), is a Scottish charity dedicated to encouraging and shaping high quality parental engagement in their children’s learning and the life of the school.

Connect is a membership organisation working with parents, families, educators and others in Scottish education and beyond to make parental engagement as good as it can be. Drawing on extensive experience, Connect shares what works so that effective partnerships and strong relationships between parents, families, schools, early learning and childcare and the wider community can develop.
