Hygge(hoo-ga) is a Danish lifestyle approach that focuses on having a happy and simple way of living to bring about better health and wellbeing. At Halbeath, we are introducing elements of this approach focusing on supporting children’s holistic wellbeing and learning in a calm and nurturing environment.

At Halbeath Nursery we are all working together to embed the Hygge approach. Children are supported to appreciate the wonder and joy of their time at nursery in a safe, calming and nurturing environment.

Each playroom uses soft and gentle lighting that gives a sense of warmth and comfort along with natural resources and calming music. This experience is intended to add curiosity, awe and wonder to the children’s nursery experience as they embrace a more relaxing way to learn and play. The nursery environment is warm, comfortable and inviting, creating a home from home experience for all.
