Thank you for taking a look at our school website. Here is a little bit about us.
The village of Guardbridge is situated in the beautiful rural countryside surrounding St Andrews. We are a small village school with currently 80 children divided into four composite classes. The original school building was built in 1889 and an extension completed in June 2021 has taken the school from three to five classrooms. The school has a gym hall, a spacious playground with sports area and access to a large wildlife garden adjacent to the estuary which is used for outdoor learning. We are supported in our outdoor learning by a volunteer from St Andrews University.
We have 5 school values that guide us in our actions and interactions. These are: Respect, Responsibility, Equality, Kindness and Ambition. Our vision as a school is to be the best version of ourselves each day.
We have strong links with our school and local community to ensure a vibrant and varied curricular experience for our children.
We have a close connection with Strathkinness Primary School as I am headteacher of both schools. Both staff groups work as one big team, sharing practice, resources and ideas.
We look forward to welcoming both you and your child to the school.
Kind regards,
Kate Balsillie, Headteacher
