We are a large nursery with 3 rooms, the Busy Bees, Flowertots and Caterpillars. We also run a fully outdoor provision called the Little Squirrels, located in the Calaiswoods.

The Busy Bees  and Flowertots are accessed through a secure entrance, between Calaiswood and Duloch primary and comprises of two large rooms with shared kitchen and toilet facilities.

Our Caterpillars room is accessed through a secure entry system via the community centre.

Within our nursery there is a quiet room – which is also used as our music room – a family room and an office.  The completely enclosed garden and safe surfaced play area within the grounds of the school playground is accessible for all nursery rooms.

Our nursery can accommodate up to 160 children from age 3.

• Securing a place in a school nursery class does not guarantee a primary school place will be available in the corresponding primary school.

• Morning Session – 8.00am – 12:40pm
• Afternoon Session – 1:20pm – 6pm

6 hours

• Full Day – 9am – 3pm

Little Squirrels

Duloch nursery are part of a pilot for outdoor learning provision. At Little Squirrels we spend the whole session outdoors no matter what the weather.

The opportunities for the children are endless…

• they can connect with and develop a deep appreciation of nature
• they have the autonomy to lead their own learning
• they will engage in adventurous play, developing their own awareness of risk which builds confidence and resilience
• they will learn new skills – den building, cooking, whittling and many more.

The children learn to appreciate being out in all weathers and the learning opportunities that different types of weather can provide.

Being immersed in nature gives children the space to ‘be me’ and has proven benefits in supporting physical health and development which are the building blocks to cognitive and pre literacy skills and a readiness to learn. It is a calm nurturing space which leads to positive wellbeing for all.
