Our Eco-committee Team

Our Eco-committee Team

At Canmore, we are very proud of our achievements and these achievements come through hard work, dedication and Resilience.

This dedicated and ongoing hard work can clearly be seen in the work of our Eco-committee as they lead the school in our drive to be aware of, and show Responsibility for, our environment.

Each year a representative from each class joins our Eco-committee team.  This is a role that many children are keen to take part in which in itself shows the enthusiasm Canmore pupils have for caring for environment.  Our Eco-Committee is made up of the pupil representatives, staff members and usually parents or community members.

Canmore is very proud to be one of only a few schools with Green Flag status as having earned 6 Eco Flags.  The Green Flag Award is an internationally recognised achievement for schools and nurseries committed to Learning for Sustainability. Flags can be seen flying outside schools all over Scotland.

To achieve this, a school must show its commitment to Eco issues and how it is ensuring sustainability for the school and wider community environment.

Canmore ensures Eco issues are integrated with projects throughout the school, pupils are Eco-minded and ensure frequent litter patrols and outdoor learning days to focus on environmental issues.
