Welcome to Canmore Primary School

We would like to welcome you to the school.  Canmore is a very happy place to be where the pupils show a great pride in their school and are eager to take on responsibility and to represent their school in the wider community.  We appreciate the dilemmas parents have in choosing the right school for their child and the difficult decision parents make in deciding where their child will spend the first seven years of their formal education.

As a school we realise that every child is an individual and we feel very privileged to be given the trust and confidence of parents. We are eager to ensure that we put in place the correct programmes, structures and supports to allow your child to flourish and to reach their full potential with a growth mindset.

In Canmore we provide a wide range of educational experiences which enable all children to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

Our School

Headteacher’s Welcome

“We believe that your child has a right to be educated within a safe and happy environment where children respect others and are respected.  Our school values are at the heart of everything we do at Canmore. We strive to ensure our children can be the best they can be which is nurtured through our curriculum, the experiences offered and our school values:

– Respect
– Resilience
– Responsibility

Our school values, recently revised in consultation with parents, pupils and staff of Canmore are on display in our foyer, classrooms and are regularly referred to throughout daily school life.

We have a strong commitment to parent partnerships and there are many opportunities, both formal and informal, when parents can become involved in our school community and we hope that you will take the opportunity to participate in the variety of events that take place throughout the year.

Starting school is a big milestone in the life of a child and a parent.  It is the most important first step on the journey of education.  As such, it is important that these first steps are the right ones.

Here at Canmore, we welcome every child as an individual.  Our school values, chosen by the children of Canmore are on display in our foyer and in every classroom.  We want to provide your child with a happy, caring, stimulating and collaborative environment that promotes optimum learning.”

Communication With Parents

Communicating with our School Community

Here at Canmore we understand the vitally important role good communication plays with all of our school community.

To help achieve this we use a range of messaging platforms.

Groupcall is a service we use to email parents with school-wide information. If you are not already connected, please contact the school for further details. This service is one of our main methods to communicate with parents.

This is supported by School App for Parents which allows regularly updated school-wide news, general school information and class originated news to be forwarded to parents. The School App has a linked website dedicated to hosting this current news. Click here to visit our School App website.

Canmore’s Fife Council website (this website) provides a wide range of information for parents related to the life of the school and your child’s learning. Please feel free to explore our site and share in your child’s learning experience.

Seesaw Class and Seesaw Family are apps for use by pupils and parents respectively. Seesaw is an online learning platform and pupil engagement tool which allows each pupil to share their learning and successes with their parents.  The Seesaw Family app will provide parents with notifications of any new postings in their child’s learning journal.

Canmore also has a Facebook page where information and event news can be found.
