Achievements at Canmore
Canmore pupils are very Resilient and work hard to achieve in both their leaning and beyond. We are very proud of all of their hard work and successes.
In 2022, Canmore were awarded a Digital School Award, (with added mentor status) in recognition of all of the fantastic Digital Literacy activities and skills we have at Canmore. We are one of only a few schools in all of Scotland to have achieved this level of award. Well done Canmore!
In session 2023/2024, Canmore worked towards gaining their 7th Eco-flag award. What an amazing achievement! We are keeping up our hard work in this area.
Did you see us on TV? In 2023 the P7’s won a national STEM Challenge run by Aerospace Kinross. Over 2500 children from across Scotland took part and Canmore were victorious as Grand Prize Winners! As part of our prize, our P7 cohort were able to link up with NASA’s Training Centre in America and we visited Fife Airport for the day. Some of us were lucky enough to enjoy a short flight in a light aircraft with many choosing to fly over our school when it was their turn. We even made the national news! STV aired an article all about our hard work and successes. Well done Canmore!

Canmore have a fantastic history of sporting successes too. We proudly celebrate some of these achievements in our overflowing trophy cabinet within the entrance of our school. Hockey and Tennis are among our recent successes. Our P7 team returned victorious from the West Fife Tournament as overall winners.
Not all of our successes are sporting. Canmore are also proud to celebrate successes in the area of science too. With wins in recent years of Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI);
STEM Challenge Winner (2024)
STEM Challenge Winner (2023)
STEM Primary Science Club of the Year Overall Winner (2022),
STEM Challenge Winner Primary (2020),
Regional Club of the Year 2018,
Young Engineers & Science Clubs Scotland STEM Challenge winner 2017.
Our budding mathematicians were also winners of a National Challenge by the online learning platform SUMDOG. This was an amazing feat of numeracy! Well done to P6 (2020-2021) and Mrs Wehmeyer.
Our former pupils have also continued to achieve too. Dunfermline High School’s Head Boy (2020-2021), Head Girl (2021-2022) and Head Girl (2022-2023) are all ex Canmore pupils. We are all very proud of their ongoing successes.
