Our Senior Pupil Leadership Team
Our school value of Responsibility is embedded in the learning experience at Canmore. Each year, our P7 pupils are given the opportunity to become members of our Junior Leadership Team (JLT).
The senior members of the JLT for each new session will be selected and in post by early September.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Being a positive role-model to all pupils in the school in upholding Canmore school values of RESPECT, RESILIENCE & RESPONSIBILITY. (Having a can’do’more, can‘be’more attitude!) Modelling and encouraging the wearing of school uniform and respectful behaviour by all pupils in the school.
- Taking new pupils/families/visitors around the school and telling them about our school.
- Setting up for reconnector sessions with different groups of pupils.
- Helping at events in school (where allowed due to COVID restrictions), eg MacMillan Coffee morning, Big Breakfast, Sports Days, Charity events.
- Supervising Early Years pupils during wet breaks alongside Support Staff.
- Giving out additional House Points to pupils displaying Canmore school values.
- Planning/Co’ordinating Sports days for P1-3 & P4-7 & for Nursery/P1 visits with Active Schools Co’ordinator.
- Supporting/organising donations for Harvest Reconnector.
- Presenting at reconnectors for groups of children.
- Supporting younger pupils in class at set ‘tutor’ times.
- Supporting in setting up House Treats, Christmas parties, special events, etc…
- Representing the school at different events in the community throughout the year.
