Measuring for Our New Stained Glass Windows

Our Primary 7 pupils have been busy taking part in a very special project as we prepare our new holy space in school. This week, the children worked together to measure the windows that will soon be transformed with beautiful stained glass designs.

Using their everyday numeracy skills, the pupils carefully measured the height and width of each window, recording their results and checking them as a team. They discussed which tools to use, compared measurements, and supported one another to make sure their work was accurate.

This hands-on activity was a wonderful example of learning in action. The children demonstrated excellent teamwork, communication, and thinking skills, while also seeing how maths is used in real-life situations. Measuring the windows helped them understand why accuracy is so important, especially when creating something meaningful for a shared space.

We can’t wait to see how their hard work contributes to the finished stained glass windows and to our new holy space, which will be a place of reflection and calm for our whole school community.
