Primary 7 have been diving into their World War 2 topic this term, learning all about how people stayed safe during such a challenging time in history. From air raid precautions to evacuation, the class has developed a strong understanding of the strategies used to protect communities.
To bring their learning to life, pupils were set an exciting challenge by Miss Thomas and Mrs Alexander. Using their knowledge of WW2 alongside the resources and technology available in 2026, they were asked to design and present their own ideas for staying safe in a disaster scenario.
The creativity on display has been fantastic! Some groups chose to create stop-motion videos, while others used LEGO to build imaginative models. We’ve also seen designs for bulletproof boats, hidden safe rooms within homes, and many more innovative solutions.
We are incredibly proud of the thought, teamwork and creativity shown by Primary 7. We can’t wait to see the finished projects and for the children to share their ideas with their peers!
