Writing

All of our writers are Advanced Higher English candidates from Larbert High School. Helena Barton, Vaila Campbell, Kate Finlay, Jenna Kidd, Natasha Morton and Eilidh Ormiston have responded creatively to our visit to the James Hogg in the World exhibition at Stirling University and the seminar with Dr Adrian Hunter. English teacher, Lorna Swinney, explains why this experience has been invaluable to the students.

The students are in the early first weeks of the Advanced Higher Course. The seminar and tour of the exhibition has provided an ideal induction experience, allowing them to continue developing their analytical skills and creative responses to complex texts. Students have benefitted from working together, and being allowed the time and space to focus on their creativity outwith the context of the classroom.
