Dalguise 2013

P7 went to  Dalguise

We unpacked and went to meet Pete. When we went to the archery I had fun because I hit the target during the game. The rock climbing was hard because I was struggling to reach the top. Fencing was fun too. My favourite activity was the giant swing.  I liked it because it was very funny when we swung down.  I liked motorsports as it was very funny when Emma crashed. I was scared doing the 75 foot tree. Something I learned about myself at Dalguise was that I am not scared of heights. Barry

Dalguise

On Monday 18th March primary 7 went on an amazing to Dalguise in Perthshire for five days. It was a treat for us leaving primary school.  On the first day we met our instructor Pete and then we walked up to Craigvinean that was the name of the cabins we were staying in and we got unpacked. My favourite activity was the giant Swing I went on it twice the first it was a mix of fun and scary the second time it was just fun. The activity I felt most nervous about was Jacobs ladder on that you had to climb up a set of beams they got further away each beam. My biggest achievement of the week was facing my fear of heights. Something I learned about myself at Dalguise was I am not as scared of heights as I was when I came. Something I would never forget would be the activities. Overall I thought the whole experience was amazing, fun, hard, exciting and phenomenal and superb!!!                                       Dean

Dalguise

On Monday the 18th March P7 went to Dalguise which is in Perth, every year the P7’s go to Dalguise because that is our big trip before we leave to go to high school.

I shared a room with Chloe M, Taylor, Rebecca and René. I liked sharing a room with them because they are my best friends and I especially liked spending time with Rebecca because she isn’t going to the same high school as us, so I will really miss her. 🙁

Our leader for Dalguise was Pete and he was really nice. He was the person who took us to breakfast, lunch and dinner and was the person who kept us on track. I will miss Pete because he was funny and he taught me a little science lesson when we were eating our lunch. We had a cup full of water and we had a fork. We put the fork in the water and it looked like it had been bent.

After dinner on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we went to the shop and I bought stuff for my family and sometimes I bought stuff for me.

The activities we did were the zip wire, giant swing, tree climbing, rock climbing, Jacobs’s ladder, abseiling, vertical challenge, archery, motor sports, fencing, sensory trail, orienteering, challenge course and problem solving.

My biggest achievement at Dalguise would probably be climbing the 75ft tree and getting to the top of the rock climbing because I was the only person who got to the top of the rock climbing.

The activity I was most nervous about was the 75ft tree because my big brother said to me it was really scary but when I got to the top I wanted to go down and do it again.

On Tuesday our school and all the other schools had a big real life game of cluedo and it was really fun. The murderer was Lord Dalguise, he kilt the person in the car park with a piece of shrimp.

Something I learned about myself at Dalguise was that I just have to go out and try things. I don’t have to be afraid because the things I was afraid to do were the things I wanted to do again. Emma-Louise

Dalguise

When P7 went to Dalguise we did lots of outdoor climbing activities like tree climbing, vertical challenges, climbing walls and lots more. We also did things like archery, giant swing and games in the giant tic tac. We were in the bus for about 1 hour and a bit and then we arrived at Dalguise and had to pull our heavy suitcases up a hill to our cabin.

The things I enjoyed most about the week were trying new things like climbing a 75 foot tree 3 times and going on a quad bike.

The activity I felt most nervous about was the 75 foot tree climb but once I did it once I wasn’t scared to do it another two times to the top.

My biggest achievement of the week was climbing to the top of the tree climb 3 times.

Something I will never forget about Dalguise would be when me and Sophie were arguing at the giant swing about who would pull the rope.

Something I learned about myself at Dalguise was I’m not really scared of heights.

Overall, I thought the whole experience was AMAZING ! Chloe M
