We have been learning about Egyptian mummification and decided to try an experiment. We have mummified apples! We covered our apples in salt and baking soda and put them in Miss Nichol’s cupboard. We are going to check on them in a week. We predict that they will have stayed the same because the salt and baking soda will have kept them the same. We will post our results soon!

P5N Egyptian Art!
We have been doing lots of Egyptian art. We made sarcophaguses and decorated them. I used glitter and sequins to make it look fancy for a pharaoh. Then we made mummies out of modroc. It was messy
and fun. They look really cool like Tutankhamen’s. We made sand jars and painted them to look Egyptian. We also made our own
canopic jars. The Egyptians used these to put organs in like the stomach, liver, lungs and intestines.

P5N New Topic
We are going to be learningabout Ancient Egypt this term. I know some facts about Egypt already. The pharaohs built their own pyramid so when they died they were buried with their jewels. Egypt is in Africa. King Tut might have died of a broken leg. I am looking forward to this topic. Jordan
