Above is a soft sculpture collage showing the children of Carronshore Primary School at play. It is on show in our front entrance for all visitors to enjoy.
I am going to use this blog to display all the other great art work produced by the children of Carronshore Primary School. Most of the children’s artwork is displayed throughout the school. Their art work is regularly praised by visitors who come to our school. One of the aims of this blog is to give the children an even wider audience for their work. Eventually, I hope to give the children of the upper school their own online space to allow them to discuss their art work.
The two pictures below show the collage in closer detail. This piece was produced by P5 -7 pupils over a period of time, using recycled materials, including old tights for the children’s heads and plastic bags for trees.

I’m really looking forward to seeing more of your great artwork on here – I’ve seen it first hand in Carronshore Primary, and I know how much it’s admired by staff, children and visitors.
Thanks! The pupils in our school really responded positively to the little mini versions of themselves! They also enjoyed creating all the Eco features such as the blue tits, butterflies, trees etc, which are present in our playground.
These are wonderful characters, I like the way they’re so 3-dimensional. I wonder whether they come to life at night… they’d be brilliant in an animation!

The Carronshore pupils have taken great pride in this soft sculpture collage, maybe , in part because they recognise themselves, or their pals there!
Thanks Dorothy – it’s great to receive such positive feedback. The soft sculpture grew from playground games/clubs, to incorporate all the other playground features, such as the new tree planting, owl. fox, butterflies and blue tits. We worked with the Eco group to pinpoint the wildlife in our playground and all the pupils enjoyed finding them on the finished piece.
