Local delivery of the Bookbug programme is managed by LSS through book pack gifting, promoting Bookbug activities and is clearly linked to the Scottish Government’s Literacy Action Plan:
- Strengthening links with Health Centres
- Developing a strong reading culture from the earliest age
- Creating partnerships to support literacy improvement with family learning, early years’ establishments, schools and local libraries
Bookbug Baby
This pack is issued by health visitors in the Falkirk Council area at a baby’s health check (usually between 6 and 16 weeks). Parents/carers can also collect a pack from their local public library.
