On Thursday 28th January SCS provided S3 & S4 practical woodworking pupils with an insight into the joinery industry through a combination of discussion and practical demonstrations. The key elements of the session included:
- A brief introduction to the industry and career paths.
- Discussion of technical craft: taking pupils through a range of sample fixings typically used on construction projects.
- Practical demonstration: construction of sample partitions with pupils having the opportunity to screw partitions and fixings together.
This session was planned by Mr Falconer (PT Pupil Support) and Miss Gallagher (PT Design and Technology) in collaboration with Morgan Sindall Construction and Infrastructure Ltd.
