The Greenhouse

Exploring emotions and being able to identify how ourselves and others feel are key to learning and teaching within thee Greenhouse to help our children be able to cope in different situations in different settings now and in the future. we explore emotions daily and we had a lot of fun expressing a range of emotions and playing, ‘guess the emotion’ using our character head.

The message we convey in the Greenhouse is that it is OK to feel a variety of emotions throughout the day but it is how we cope with them that’s important to our overall well-being! ❤️

The children have discussed and agreed on a target they would like to focus on as an area of improvement throughout term 1. We will support the children with their target in the Greenhouse and encourage them to work on their target in both class and the Greenhouse.

Examples of Targets:

• I would like to improve my reading skills
• I will listen to my teachers
• To follow instructions promptly
• To feel safe in unfamiliar situations and places
• To take part in small group activities
• Improve my handwriting skills
• To stay focussed throughout tasks

Together we will work hard to achieve our Term 1 Targets! 🤙

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and the staff in the Greenhouse are delighted to welcome back all of our children!

The children have settled very well back in to the Greenhouse and we have been busy establishing new goals & targets we would like to achieve together this new term. We have also had lots of opportunities to re-establish friendships and have FUN!

I look forward to meeting as many of our parents/carers at our ‘Meet the Teacher’ day next Wednesday.

Congratulations to Marty for successfully completing the Level 2 Bikeability award. What a great achievement and ride safely!

The children had such a great day playing together on the inflatables. It was a lovely end of term celebration and it was a joy to see such big smiles on our children’s faces 🤩

What a day we all had at Sports Day! Our Greenhouse children were all fantastic and some even participated with their class for the full event. We had our own Greenhouse races to make sure everyone got to experience the event. We all had so much fun and what a joy to see our school community come together once again. 🏫👩‍👩‍👦‍👦👨‍👧‍👦👨‍👦👩‍👦

Thank you to the pupils in P6 who came to read with us. We enjoyed sharing our learning and working cooperatively to enhance our Literacy skills.

The children were recently rewarded with a movie and pizza day in the Greenhouse for all their excellent efforts this academic year. The staff team are super proud of all of the children and we thank them for always trying their best when in our care. We have loved seeing each and everyone of them progress and flourish! ⭐️

Odin and Calum have had lovely days celebrating their birthdays with all of their friends in the Greenhouse and St. Mark’s. We wish them a very happy birthday and hope they have a lovely time celebrating with their families.
