where children come to grow

Outdoor Learning

The children walked to The Jerry park to take their learning outdoors. The have been learning about different habitats as part of their Climate change topic and were keen to explore an woodland eco system.

They observed a variety of insects in their natural environments such as slugs, beetles, woodlouse, birds and worms. They were disappointed not to see any spiders but they did spot a web!

Whilst exploring the environment they discovered lots of different types of fungi, and moss and will research them next week to find out their correct names.

They worked together to complete a scavenger hunt as a team and played together taking turns at some team games.

They communicated well when working together and helped each other to overcome Β fears (heights and spiders).

They even managed to squeeze in some turn taking on the play equipment.

Walking to and from the park they practised listening to and following rules through games and rhymes.
