We looked at climate change and learned about the four types of climates on the planet.

We read, sequenced and acted out a story of a vole who’s home was flooded during what should be the dry season. The pupils shared ideas on how he could keep his seeds dry so that he would not starve.

Using potatoes from the garden, we created potato print poppy gardens for Remembrance day.

One pupil then created a volcano and island scene by painting the actual potatoes!

As one of our calming strategies, we looked at creating a spinner to help us focus on our breathing and draw attention away from a stressor.

The Tuesday group have been looking at friendship and kindness over the last few sessions. They wanted to create a movie to remind other children about the role of the Buddy bench.

They worked together to write a script and create title posters. They practised and performed their movie and recorded it for an assembly showing.

O wanted to see how far his paper aeroplane would fly. He has been working on a variety of designs. This design managed to fly 10.3m in the gym hall but 12m outside with some wind resistance. He measured the distance using a trundle wheel.

The Wednesday group have been working on floating and sinking as their science topic. This week they looked at a variety of fruit, made their predictions, carried out their experiment and researched and explained their results. They recreated the experiment in paint.

C has been working on letter formation. This week he worked independently on a variety of pencil control tasks.
