All things Autumn πŸ‚

We had a lovely afternoon searching and exploring our school grounds to find signs of Autumn. The children all participated enthusiastically and collected items individually and then worked collaboratively to great an Autumn collage!

Tallest Tower STEM Challenge πŸ›•

Our boys worked successfully in pairs and individually to create a tall, strong tower using spaghetti and marshmallows. We discussed the importance of a β€˜strong base’ to support our towers, to stop them toppling over and looked at examples of towers that had wider bases and thinner at the top. I think they enjoyed eating a few of the marshmallows too for all their hard work 😁

Show and Tell!

We really do love listening to each other’s news and achievements. Michael was able to tell us all about his visit to the McGills bus station open day, in great detail. Luna kindly and enthusiastically shared her new dance with us that she has been learning at her dance class. Well done Luna, you were awesome and we are all very proud of you! πŸ‘πŸ€™πŸ‘Œβ€οΈ

Bake Bake Bake πŸͺ

Noah and Callan did a great job at following a recipe to make fruit scones. They successfully used scales to accurately weigh the ingredients and worked together to create delicious scones. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork πŸ‘

Interdisciplinary Learning (IDL) in action! πŸ‚πŸ₯£πŸ¦”

Our Term 1 IDL topic is Autumn. What a great afternoon we had exploring this theme and creating autumnal art creations, preparing and making autumnal (lentil) soup and listening and discussing a beautiful story about LOVE πŸ’“Β called β€˜Hedgehog Heart’.

Please encourage your child to look out for signs of Autumn πŸ‚Β and we will discuss together during our show and tell sessions.

Ps. The soup was delicious and we followed the recipe from our St. Mark’s cookbook!
