In Literacy and English this morning, we were working on our talking and listening skills.  We each had a chance to tell the group about our weekend.  When someone was talking, we had to listen carefully and make some notes so that we could remember what everyone had said.

We used a big non-fiction book called “It’s the Weekend” as a guide. Abi gave us a great description of the contents page.

“The contents page tells us where to look for different bits.  Information books have lots of information in them and it means we can find the right page and not get lost.”

We were using numbers up to 100.      Fatima

I went up to a big number.  And then Mrs Scott asked me to count in 10s.       Katie

We were taking a word and we were using different kinds of writing to practise spelling.     Soairse

I was writing ‘play’ in bubble writing and rainbow writing.     Haris

We were building a minion!   Tammy

We were using different skills with the mouse.  We had to click, drag and doubleclick .    Jessica

This group broke the class rule of ‘NO FUN ALLOWED’!!!!!!!!  (We have lots really!)

We were cutting and gluing , sticking letters to make words.  ( Ibrahim and Eilidh)

The words made a sentence. It said “I want to play.”    (Alex)

We were reading books and telling everyone what our favourite bit was, and drawing it.  (Miley)

Saoirse and I read Rumble in the Jungle.  (Haris)

I was writing down the names of the patients.  (Haider)

Arran was my dentist. He was brushing my teeth! (James)

We were sequencing numbers   ( Abi) and ordering them.  (Katie)

Two students from Woodfarm High School have been helping in our PE lessons. Can you spot everyone?

What were we doing in maths today?

‘We were making tally marks.’  Haris

‘We put squares in a tower to make a bar chart.’  Miley and Katie

Hopefully all the children will have their Glow usernames and passwords, so you can access our blog at home.  Fingers crossed!!

Next week is World of Work week.  On Monday 16th November, we can Dress For the Future  and think about what we want to do when we are older.

This lead to an interesting conversation about girls and boys BOTH being able to do whatever job they want to.  We watched clips of  the World Champion Women’s football team and Rudolf Nureyev, the most famous male ballet dancer.
