Hi everyone!
To celebrate the UK’s success in curling in the winter Olympics, we got the chance to practise curling in the hall. It is harder than it looks! We started our new topic which we picked. We are studying the USA. In Maths we have been learning about a famous Scottish mathematician called John Napier and his methods for calculating large numbers. We have also been learning about statistics, co-ordinates, time durations and four digit subtraction and addition.
We have started our Mandarin lessons and we have already learned our numbers to ten and basic greetings. In French we are learning how to name different parts of the body. In writing we wrote a personal story called ‘My Best Friend’, we wrote instructions on how to make pancakes and an imaginative piece called ‘Into the Wardrobe’. In reading we have been learning the skill of visualising and creating questions using our novel. In P.E we are learning hockey and rugby skills.
In Art we created anti-racism posters, USA information posters and we also focused on creating detailed patterns.
In Technology we have been working in teams to create models using Kapla. We have made a spider and a hot air balloon so far. Check out our photos on Twitter.
We have also been learning about the skills we will need for the world of work and we talk about which skill we are developing in each lesson.
We are also in the process of updating our e-portfolios.
Thanks for reading!
