April Update

Hi !

Just a short post this month as we were on our holidays for half of it!

As a class we have all been given a ‘perfect pal’. This is a person in the class who we are secretly showing large amounts of kindness towards. We love it!

In Science we have been doing experiments around the topic of buoyancy.

In RE we have been learning about St. Mark and the Resurrection of Jesus.

We have been focusing on the artist Andy Warhol and we have completed two amazing pieces of work in his style.

For problem solving we have been looking at pentominoes. We have also been learning division, shape and budgeting in maths.

In French we have been learning how to name our family members.

In the forest we built cairns which were very imaginative and well constructed.

We wrote fabulous poems in writing showcasing Scotland.

We made American landmarks using construction material which we really enjoyed.

Thanks for reading!

March Update

This month in Religious we have been learning about the Stations of the cross, St Patrick and St Anthony. We have been given music demonstrations for woodwind and brass and lots of us want to take up lessons in P6 now. We also had a Taekwon-Do taster session which was a lot of fun. We have been taking part in Beat the Street which was a fun way to exercise. We completed our novel study which we really enjoyed. Some of us were very successful in a cross country competition and also a basketball tournament; well done!

We enjoyed 6 weeks of learning Mandarin; we learned so much in this short time and are looking forward to more sessions in P6.We also donated money to SCIAF using our wee boxes.

In Maths, we really enjoyed creating Maths games for our peers to try out and in Science our highlight was learning about static electricity and making ‘Dancing Ghosts’ to see this in action.

Have a lovely Easter break! See you again in April!
