Despite the week long holiday, October has been busy for Primary 5a! Check out what we have enjoyed learning about this month below:
Social Studies- Castles
‘I enjoyed the castles because we got to get creative and make it out of random parts and make all the castles features and details.’ Matthew
‘I liked getting to paint my castle at the end. We have also been doing a times tables challenge every Friday. I have done my 7 and 8 so far!’ Rose
‘I liked making my castle because I got to put the lego characters in, and it was fun making the portcullis. I used tooth picks and went round it with tin foil. I also like doing basketball in PE becuase it is fun when we get to do matches against each other.’ Joshua
‘I really liked painting my castle and cutting it out and drawing the bricks as well. I liked making the other parts for the castle. I used cardboard to make it.’ Daksh
Social Studies- COP26
‘We made giant Cop 26 posters in groups. We had to use the chromebooks to gather information and cut pieces of paper out to stick onto the poster to make it eye-catching. I also like doing science, learning about solids, liquids and gases. I also like doing the daily mile, we try and do it every day.’ Ibrahim
‘I learned what Cop26 stood for; conference of the parties. i also enjoy learning about perimeter in maths.’ Inaaya K
‘I learned that it is going to be hosted in Glasgow and the people from different countries are going to be there and they are going to try and make climate change better.’ Sophia
‘We have been making Cop26 posters in class. We have to be partnered in groups and work together to find information using the chromebooks.’ Orla
Writing
‘We have learning about poetry and we wrote Autumn poems and a witches poem. You had to put rhyming words at the end of each line.’ Abby
Art and Design
‘We also made a witches house. You had to make them creepy and scary and detailed. I also liked making the castles. You got to paint them and make them your own.’ Mia
‘We went to the forest and collected leaves to do an art piece. We made pictures out of the leaves, twigs and berries. I enjoyed making the picture.’ Leah
Numeracy
‘I like the maths mosaics and how it makes a picture at the end, its fun but you also have to do maths at the same time. I also enjoy doing basketball in PE because I go to a basketball club out of school so I feel confident.’ Mo
‘We had confession in the school with the priest. It was exciting. We have also been learning symmetry in Maths. I thought it was really fun because we got to colour.’ Millie
‘I have been learning about perimeter in maths. I have been finding it good.’ Ashlin
‘I enjoy drawing 3D shapes. We have to use isometric paper. It was creative! I also liked craxy hair day because I could be creative.’ Zikora
‘I enjoyed making shapes on the isometric paper. I’d never done that before. The first square was hard but then it got easier to draw 3D shapes.’ Kasim
‘We drew the 3d shapes and we coloured them. I am still working on mine.’ Lindsay
Committees and Trips
‘We have been doing committees. I liked it because I am on Eco and we got to do fun things. We went to the learning lodge and did posters and PowerPoints.’ Tobe
‘I liked going to the committees because we got to answer questions about our school and work as a team to answer them.’ Alaiyna
‘i liked doing Judo. We went to Parklands and did judo. I really liked it because it was fun, it was really entertaining for me.’ Inaaya H
‘I also do karate and I liked trying something new. It was more fun than I thought it would be.. In maths I also doing mosics especially the Stitch mosic because it turns out he is really cute!’ Venkata
‘The trip was so fun because it was a new sport and I’d never tried it before. The instructor made us put our arms under our partner to try and put them on their back.’ Adam
‘I liked crazy hair. I tied some things in my hair. I liked seeing everyone’s different hairdos.’ Kene
