Class of 2025b

November 2020

Hello,

Welcome back to P3b’s class blog. As always, we have been working super hard!

October ended with a fabulous Halloween party in class – everyone made a great effort to dress up. This was a fun way to reward us after our great behaviour and hard work a few months after returning back to school.

November started off with a BANG (and by this we mean due to all the fireworks being let off for Guy Fawkes Night). We learnt who Guy Fawkes was and why we celebrate this day – we even made some fireworks pictures of our own!! It was a very messy task but we loved having the freedom and independence to do what we liked! The end result was fabulous 😀

In numeracy, we have been learning about measurement in centimetres and metres. We now know that centimetres are made up of tiny units of measure called millimetres – we put our knowledge to the test by finding objects that were roughly the same size as our hands, fingers and nails, and then used our rulers to measure the length of each one.  We have also enjoyed using metres sticks to measure the height and length of objects within and around the school. We took to the forest to develop these skills and although it was extremely mucky, we had loads of fun.

In literacy, our main focus was learning how to write letters. We worked on the structure of letters and what we should and should not include in them. We are so excited as this week, we are getting to write some letters to Santa!

Our Nativity practise is still on-going and we are taking this extremely seriously. It won’t be long until we are standing in front of the camera, performing our very special roles. We can’t wait for you all to see it. We have also began to prepare for the birth of the Baby Jesus – this is the season of Advent. In class we will be trying extra hard to act in the image of Jesus at this special time of year.

FINALLY, our class elf is arriving sometime this week. Our Santa cam has been keeping a very close eye on our behaviour and Miss Jack has also told us that Santa has said to keep up the good behaviour.
