PancakeTuesday and Ash Wednesday

Mrs Cameron was so kind to make pancakes for all of us.  We all got a chance to help make our own pancake and then we got to eat it in class!  They were really nice.  The class really enjoyed it.  Some children tried their first ever egg free pancake, these were made with banana instead of egg and they were delicious!  Thank you Mrs Cameron.

As part of our preparation for the start of Lent we learned all about why we participate in Shrove Tuesday and that it is an important day as it is the day before Ash Wednesday.  We learned about some  Shrove Tuesday traditions in other places, including ladies taking part in a pancake race!  Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent and we walked to St.Cadoc’s Church to participate in Mass and to receive our ashes.  Thank you Fr Eoin.  In our Religious Education lessons we have started to learn all about Lent and know that it is a season of reflection and fasting which helps us to get ready for the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday.
