Australia (Our Topic)

Our topic this year is…Australia!

During our first few weeks of Primary 6, we have been focusing on famous landmarks and have been completing our own personal research using Chromebooks. Here are some examples of some interesting facts we have discovered so far:

Sydney Harbour Bridge = also known as the ‘Coathanger’ due to its arch shape.
Great Barrier Reef = discovered in 1770 and you can see it from space!
Sydney Opera House = every year, 15,500 light bulbs are changed to keep everything lit properly!
Kangaroo Island = there are approximately 25 million kangaroos on kangaroo island: that’s the same as the number of people living in the whole of Australia!

We are all very excited to learn more about this interesting continent, especially the different types of spiders!
