STEM week

This week was STEM week. STEM stands for science technology engineering and maths. We did lots of fun and exiting experiments like making dancing ghost using tissue paper, balloons and static electricity.

Dancing Ghosts

We made a tissue paper ghost and stuck it to the desk with a bit a tape.  We then rubbed a balloon on our hair to create static electricity and then put the balloon near the tissue paper ghost and because of the static electricity the ghost started to dance!

Electric Eels

We also took part in an experiment called Electric Eels.  We used gummy laces and added them to water with bicarbonate of soda.  We then added the laces to a cup of vinegar and they fizzed up.  We left the laces in the water for two hours and eventually the laces rose due to the gas created by mixing the vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and they looked like electric eels.
