Levern Medical Practice based within Barrhead Health Centre is looking to recruit a Business and Administration Modern Apprentice. As a member of the Practice Reception Team, the post holder carries delegated responsibility for administration of the practice. They support the Receptionist Team to ensure the smooth running of all reception duties including appointments, repeat prescribing, filing and scanning documents. The post holder will work effectively to provide medical reception duties and liaise with the public in a manner appropriate to the practice. General reception duties Welcoming and directing patients Making appointments Telephone duties Repeat prescribing Responding to enquiries from patients, general public etc Filing to DOCMAN system Accepting specimens Organising the new patient registrations Dealing with emergency situations on telephone and at front desk Liaising with Doctors and Practice Nurses re patient care Liaising with outside agencies, eg Hospitals, Pharmacies etc re patient care Attend weekly staff meetings Assisting with any other duties as may be assigned from time to time as directed by the Senior Receptionist It is essential that applicants have: Have a minimum English Nat4 qualification Nice clear telephone voice Ability to work on own initiative Have a high level of interpersonal, communication, observational and organisational skills It would be desirable to have previous customer care and reception experience. As this is a Modern Apprenticeship position applicants should be aged 16-19 years old.
