Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2026
Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2026 take place between 2nd – 6th March and is a celebration of apprenticeships across Scotland.
The week recognises the contribution apprenticeships make in helping young people develop skills, gain qualifications and progress into sustained employment.
Apprenticeships provide a valuable alternative pathway to further and higher education. They enable individuals to earn a salary while working towards nationally recognised qualifications, while gaining meaningful, real-world industry experience.
Types of Apprenticeships
There are several apprenticeship pathways available:

Foundation Apprenticeships: available to pupils in the senior phase

Modern Apprenticeships: employment-based learning across a wide range of sectors

Graduate Apprenticeships; degree-level study combined with employment
Apprenticeships are available in many sectors including health and social care, engineering, construction, business, digital technologies and MORE!!
DYW
Our DYW Support Officer, Mrs McIntosh, is based in the Pastoral Base and is available to provide guidance to pupils interested in apprenticeships and other vocational pathways. Mrs McIntosh can support learners with:

Application and CV preparation

Interview preparation

Engagement with local employers
Pupils are encouraged to speak with Mrs McIntosh directly or arrange a meeting to discuss their future plans.
