Due to the growth of our Story Scotland division, based from our office in Blantyre, we now have a vacancy for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor.

As part of a team of Quantity Surveyors and reporting to the Lead Quantity Surveyor you will assist the commercial team in the effective commercial control of development sites. Learn how development viabilities are prepared and work with the commercial team to understand the principles of development level risk and opportunity, learn how to support the commercial team to prepare project level budgets and much more.

As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will have the ability and willingness to work towards becoming a Qualified Quantity Surveyor at degree level, computer literate in MS Office suite, excellent attention to detail and good communication and interpersonal skills. With the ability to work towards being able to complete the reporting requirements accurately and unaided, understand simple sub-contracts, identify the key risks for each project and actions to reduce risk, create commercial report including gains and losses for each scheme including the differentiation between budget gains/losses and performance gains/losses.
