Prince’s Trust Personal Development Programme

The Prince’s Trust Personal Development Programme provides personal development opportunities for anyone aged 16-25, not in education, training or employment. Our programme is designed for young people to explore opportunities, providing the opportunity to create positive change in their life.

The 12 week programme provides young people with the opportunity to develop personal skills, including confidence building, communication skills and team building skills as well as an understand of self-awareness and wellbeing.

The programme is designed to enable up to 12 young people to gain new skills, make new friends and improve their future prospects.

There is no cost, it will not affect benefits and a training allowance is provided.

What will I learn?

If you sign up for the programme, you will be involved in a range of projects and activities. Amongst other things you will:

  • Take on a community project of your choosing
  • Get two weeks’ work experience in a field you are interested in
  • Take part in an exciting team challenge

Entry requirements (minimum)

  • you must attend an interview
  • you must also be able to commit to 12 weeks of learning.

Employer and industry links

There will be opportunities to develop and contribute to projects that expand knowledge of potential career paths, local charities and organisations.

You will develop employability links through programme activities to understand career paths and help plan progression routes.

Jobs and further study

  • Successfully completing the Prince’s Trust Team Programme guarantees an interview for progression to further study at Glasgow Clyde College.
  • Further training and opportunities to work directly with the Prince’s Trust

Making an application

For courses starting in August, you can make up to two applications.

Applications are made to a course and a first choice of campus. If the course is oversubscribed at your first choice you will be automatically considered for alternative sites and may be made an offer without a further application.
