BAE Systems Engineering Technician (Maritime) Apprenticeship

About the scheme

The Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Programme is a combination of off-the-job training at a local college of further education, and on-the-job training across a variety of engineering functional disciplines.

Working towards both practical and academic targets, this competency based a programme takes up to four years to complete, building on your technical skills, knowledge and transferable skills.

You’ll be joining our team of highly skilled and dedicated employees working across the Maritime – Naval Ships businesses – the team that designs and builds a full range of complex surface ships.

What you’ll need

Five National 5’s at grade C or above including English, Maths and Physics (or equivalent) plus three Highers at grade C or above in English, Maths and a Science subject (or equivalent). Applicants will also be expected to be medically fit as deemed necessary to perform the role, be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance. •    Year 1: SVQ Level 2 – Performing Engineering Operations, Core Skills/Key Skills/Functional Skills, Employment Rights & Responsibilities, HNC in Engineering Systems
•    Year 2: HND – Engineering Systems, SVQ level 3 Engineering Technical Support
•    Year 3: HND – Engineering Systems, SVQ level 3 Engineering Technical Support
•    Year 4: SVQ Level 3 – Engineering Technical Support

At the end you of the apprenticeship, you’ll have had a good mix of learning experiences to ensure you develop the skills that will support you in the future.
