Primary 3c have been learning about famous Scottish artists. We talked about the Glasgow Boys and looked at some of their rural artwork. It was such a lovely day that we decided to go outside and do some of our own!

Primary 1e had an excellent time at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. We enjoyed taking part in role play and some of us even dressed up as the King and Queen! We loved exploring different parts of the museum and we learned about the planets, animals, rainforests, famous artists and many other interesting topics!
In P1b today we were sharing what we learned from our February homework grids. We all chose to do different activitites. Here is a remnder of our homework grid along with聽some of the things we learned:

Primary 1b wanted to learn more about our country and so decided to do a mini topic on Scotland. We loved sharing our learning with our parents at assembly.
We sang some Scottish songs and some of us performed the Canadian Barn Dance.
We also taught our parents some facts about the Scottish Saints from our school house system. We hope they were impressed.
Primary 1b and 1e enjoyed working together on the chrome books to develop their ICT skills. They practised logging onto GLOW independently and accessed Education City to revise Literacy and Numeracy concepts taught.
I enjoyed learning to match the rhyming words together.

We have been learning about water as part of our Holiday topic. We wanted to find out which things float in water and which things sink in water. We decided to carry out an experiment to find out. We made predictions (good guesses) first and then tested these out.
We then decided to add some salt to see if things would float more easily in salt water. We tested this out with an egg. We found that the egg floated in the water that had the salt added. We now know that things are more likely to float in the sea especially if it is very salty.
I liked doing the sheet to guess what would float and what would sink. Some of my predictions were right.聽 Abbi

P1b have been using beebots to practise their sounds.聽We had to programme the beebot to go forwards, backwards, left and right in order to land on聽our chosen sound.
I loved making the beebot go round in a big circle (Aadam)
We had to try to make sure聽the beebot聽didn’t go too far forward or it would come off the sound mat (Susanna)
