This weeks blog!

On Tuesday we did a KNEX challenge. We had a BLAST!

There were so many different WONDERFUL designs of castles to protect ourselves from people coming to attack!

We had to make it sturdy enough with walls to protect ourselves! And a steady roof to watch!

On Thursday we learned about how to debate we had simple questions and we also learned about being SMART online!

Also happy birthday to Lorena!

While the P6 girls started their EmpOUR sessions with students from St Luke’s, the boys got together for an engineering challenge. Check out our tower designs and fantastic team work skills!

Our Great Week

On Monday we went to the forest and we made shelter and we tested the shelters by using water to represent rain.

On Tuesday we had rehearsal for our learning assembly which the parents will see on Friday afternoon and we perfected our lines for the assembly.

Father Joe came to visit! And he taught about the first sins that Adam and Eve made by eating the apple when God specifically said not to.

Pope Francis Faith Award

Today, P6 went to celebrate mass in St John’s Parish church alongside P6 pupils from St John’s Primary and Monsignor John Tormey. By spending time praying together and receiving the Blessed Sacrament, we marked the beginning of an important journey. In our work towards earning the Pope Francis Faith Award, P6 will receive valuable opportunities to see their faith in action within school, at home and in their parish. It will also be very important in the preparation of our pupils to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.

What an active week !

This week we have done so much research on multiple things . We have researched about different charities in Scotland.

On Thursday we did loose parts. We had to create something that would let us get from one side of the playground to the other , we made so much different ways to get across such as a slide and obstacles. We had so much fun.

Fantastic forest school

This week at forest school we learned how to tie knots. We also learned that we have to be careful in the forest because there could be wild animals! When we learned to tie the knots, we needed a few things here is a list of what we needed:

– three bamboo sticks

– one small rope.

We had lots of fun.

Barrhead Animals

To kick off our learning about Rewilding Scotland, P6B have been discussing the wildlife that they have spotted around Barrhead. After we researched our chosen animals and their habitats, we headed outside to see what materials we could find in our playground environment to create mini habitats.
