Today we achieved another one of our make your mark signature learning experiences by making waterproof shelters .
A super fun time at the forest yesterday! We started off the session with a forest bath and then played some games and got to use our imagination
We learned that the Ancient Egyptians had their own alphabet and they used symbols to represent letters and words. This was called hieroglyphics.
We then wrote our own names in hieroglyphs.
We learned that the ancient Egyptians also made their own paper like material out of a plant called papyrus.
We worked in groups to make our own papyrus like paper by using strips and a water and glue mix. Once the paper was dry we wrote coded messages using the hieroglyphics and then used tea bags to stain the paper to make it look even more like papyrus!
Have a look at our finished result .

We used Lego and were challenged to make a symmetrical model. We worked in small groups to complete this challenge .
We had to make sure that the models were the exact same on both sides and we used mirrors to help us with this task .
Welcome to our new blog!
Primary 5a will sharing their learning on this page.
